Now a year old, Venus is ready to shine in her own spotlight! This gorgeous brindle girl is full of playful energy and endless affection for her favorite people. She loves to stay active, soak up attention, and be part of whatever her humans are doing.

Venus can be a bit selective with other dogs, so she’d do best with slow introductions or as the only pet in the home. She’s also more comfortable around adults than children—she just prefers a calmer, more predictable environment where she can relax and be her wonderful self.

Venus has come a long way from being a devoted young mama, and now it’s her turn to be spoiled. If you’re looking for a loving, spirited companion to share your adventures (and your couch), Venus is your girl! 💕

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fees for dogs includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, de-wormer, flea and tick prevention, heart worm prevention, heart worm tested, and microchip registration.

Adult Dogs: $200
Puppies: $225

Cat adoption fees include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, de-wormer, FIV/FeLV testing, flea and tick prevention, and microchip registration.

Adult Cats: $75 (or $125 for a pair)
Kittens: $90 (or $150 for a pair)

Since 1979, the Effingham County Humane Society has been committed to serving Effingham County, IL and the surrounding area. We are located in the former Funkhouser School, and our non-profit shelter is sustained by volunteers, fundraising, contributions, and adoption fees.

The goal of the Effingham County Humane Society is to reduce animal suffering in our county through educating and promoting responsible pet ownership, including spaying/neutering pets, appropriate pet identification, proper pet care, and the quality adoption of homeless pets.
