Hugo and Francois are two very special boys that came to us after having been initially bred and raised with the intention of them becoming used for food. Despite this less than ideal beginning, both of them have truly adapted so well to the more traditional home life.
The boys are lucky enough to be in a loving foster home and have been described as being "very chill bunnies". They both do very well with the litter box, enjoy lounging (though can get a little excitable in the evening) and have fun with the enrichment activities their foster mom provides. They've also gotten very accustomed to their supervised free roaming time which has helped them both make significant progress socially.
Hugo is the more confident of the pair, and while Francois can be more timid at first meeting, he really warms up as he becomes more comfortable. They are also very responsive to being called. Whether by "bunbuns!", or just "boys!", they will come hopping right over. These two are so very loved by their foster mom, but are still in need of a permanent home where they can continue to blossom. Primary Color: Grey Age: 2yrs 8mths 3wks

More about this shelter
Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. is founded on the belief that all animals have a natural right to humane treatment including proper care and safe shelter. Due to overpopulation, there are insufficient homes for most cats and dogs. Some are lucky enough to find temporary shelter and a few even find permanent homes. However it is a devastating fact that the majority are either euthanized or forced to chance life without shelter.
To support our belief and to relieve the unnecessary suffering of animals, we shall:
1.Extend every effort to find, evaluate, and secure good adoptive homes for animals in our care.
2.Provide animals with medical services and behavior therapy to the extent of our ability.
3.Adhere to a “no-kill” policy: animals shall not be euthanized for the purpose of providing space for new animals.
4.Adhere to a 100% spay and neuter policy.
5.Maintain continuing humane education programs and in particular to schools.
