My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HI - I'M JAX! I'm a 5-1/2-year-old male Greyhound-Pittie mix, possibly with some shepherd mixed in, in need of a foster or forever home. I'm such a quirky dog! I would be a great companion for an active person who wants a mix of a couch potato and active canine pal. I'm a funny dude with a handsome face and long legs. I love to run and play, and I love my toys, too. I would be great in a home that can provide me some love and attention. I do fine with some dogs, but would also thrive as an only dog. Change is a bit hard for me, so my new owner(s) will need to be patient while I learn to trust and bond. I'm not a fan of going to the vet! I've been waiting awhile and keep getting overlooked, probably because I'm an unusual combination of dog breeds. I weight only 57 lbs. If you can foster or adopt me, please email for an application.

Additional adoption info

We work hard to match animals with people, and have a high success rate doing so. We want our dogs, cats and adopters to be happy!

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue organization based in Southern California, but we adopt dogs to people in states across the country. In 2024, we adopted almost 200 animals to people in California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Texas and New York. Most of the animals we save come from high-kill shelters in California, but we also take in owner surrenders.
