Meet Bootsy – the mellow gentleman with a heart of gold and the fluffiest ears in town!
Bootsy is a 6-year-old Husky/Shepherd mix who’s as sweet and soulful as they come. At 63 lbs, he’s a gentle, low-energy boy who prefers slow strolls, comfy naps, and the company of kind-hearted humans. He may not win any races (and honestly, he’s not trying to), but he’s got a quiet charm that wins hearts wherever he goes.
Bootsy has been diagnosed with ataxia and hip dysplasia, which affect his movement a bit—but don’t let that stop you from falling for this lovely guy. He gets around just fine, enjoys gentle sniffari-style walks, and is happy to take it slow. He’s also underweight right now and would love a home where he can be spoiled with love, care, and a few extra snacks to help him fill out.
In playgroups, Bootsy keeps it mellow and polite. He’s not the party guy in the yard, but he’s happy to say hello and then go about his business with quiet confidence. He could live with well-matched, chill dog friends—or would be just as happy soaking up the spotlight solo.
If you’re looking for a calm, loving companion who just wants to be near you (preferably on a soft bed with snacks nearby), Bootsy could be your perfect match.
Come meet this special guy at Oakland Animal Services and see why slow and steady truly wins the race.
