My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Pancho! I’m a silly, sweet boy who loves spending time with people and other dogs. I enjoy nature walks at a good pace, belly rubs, car rides, and soaking up the sun during my naps. I also like having quiet time in my doggie bed.

I love attention and affection, but not in a clingy way. Even though I look like a cuddler, too much physical affection too quickly can overwhelm me. I do best when my humans let me approach first to show I’m ready for cuddles.

Life has brought me some big changes recently, and sometimes I feel stressed. I may ask for attention in ways that aren’t ideal, but I never mean harm. With guidance, I’m learning to express myself without nipping and to feel calm and secure.

I’ll thrive in a calm home with patient, experienced people who can give me gentle structure and continued training. Please don’t be discouraged by what I’m still learning — what I offer in return is love, loyalty, and a truly special bond. I can’t wait to meet you!

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters are carefully screened through our adoption process:

- If you're interested in an animal, we'll ask that you fill out a questionnaire, which we will review to ensure you and the dog you are interested in adopting are a good match.

- You will be asked to submit to a "home safety check" to determine the level of safety and adequacy of the area for the dog.

- An adoption fee is required and you must sign the adoption agreement, which ensures that if, for any reason, you are unable to keep the dog, he/she to be returned to Forte Animal Rescue only.

- Finally, we personally deliver your new family member to your home.

- Any additional donation would be greatly appreciated, and this portion will be tax-deductible. The donation goes to pay for all of the other animals in our care, many of which come to us with injuries or medical conditions that require treatment. Forte Animal Rescue survives solely on donations and it is for this reason that the adoption fee is nonnegotiable.

- Forte Animal Rescue reserves the right to cancel the adoption process at any time if the home situation or adoptive family has been misrepresented, if certain information was withheld, or if the dog is determined to be a better match with another family.
