My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Serafina (Fina, for short) loves to be petted, and will request pets often throughout the day. She enjoys snuggling in laps and will happily make biscuits to show her contentment. When her foster mom enters the room, Serafina will run up and very cutely turn around and demand pets on her back. Her scratcher and toy mouse are her favorite toys, and she will happily entertain herself throughout the day. She loves looking outside with the window open, and can spend hours at the window just watching squirrels, birds, and people. Her past is a mystery, and she is still very shy and scared of most new people and things. So being a solo-cat in an adults-only home is needed so that she has time and space to continue to decompress and develop her confidence. She needs someone who will not only give her time and space to heal, but also be very patient and loving. Show her that humans can be pretty good, too. Follow her on Instagram @cat_named_serafina to see more photos and videos.

Her Instagram page is @cat_named_serafina.

Additional adoption info

We adopt animals to homes in the Los Angeles area and neighboring counties.

To help ensure that we place our cats in loving, responsible, committed homes, we have a screening process before you can adopt a pet from Kitten Rescue. We reserve the right to turn down potential adopters as we deem necessary. First, we ask that you complete our Adoption Questionnaire at kittenrescue.org/cat-adoption-form/. You can complete the form online or you may stop by a weekly adoption event to complete form in person. Second, a home visit or a home delivery of the cat or kitten is also required as part of our adoption process.

The Kitten Rescue adoption fee is $150 for a kitten or cat up to 10 years old, and $100 for each additional kitten or cat to the same household ($250 if you adopt a pair). Cats above 10 years old have a fee reduction of 50%, for an adoption fee of $75 each.

All of our cats have already been:
Spayed or neutered
Vaccinated – with at least one FVRCP vaccination
Treated for fleas
Dewormed
Tested for FeLV (Feline Leukemia) and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)
Microchipped

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
