My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Honeybear — Your Lovable, Red-Mahogany Ray of Sunshine!

Honeybear is a breathtaking young Labrador Retriever mix whose deep red–mahogany coat seems to glow in the sunlight. Pair that with his soulful puppy eyes and an irresistible, heart-melting smile, and you’ve got a dog who looks like he walked straight out of a storybook. But his beauty is only the beginning — Honeybear is overflowing with sweetness, affection, and a genuine desire to love and be loved.

This smart as a whip boy already knows sit and come, and he shines with positive reinforcement. Honeybear is treat-motivated, attentive, and even has experience with clicker training, making him a wonderful partner for anyone who enjoys building a strong bond through learning and teamwork. He adores engaging training sessions that work his brain and help him show off just how clever he is.

Honeybear’s perfect day includes a long, sniffy walk where he can explore the world at his own curious pace, followed by some quality time with his favorite humans. He is fantastic with children and soaks up their attention with joy. Despite his playful energy, Honeybear is also a total cuddlebug — he absolutely melts under gentle pets, leans in for affection, and loves curling up close for warm, cozy snuggle moments. He gives his whole heart when he trusts you, and it shows in every wag and nuzzle.

Because Honeybear loves deeply and thrives when he can be the star of the show, he would do best as the only dog in the home. He wants to be your loyal companion, your adventure buddy, and your snuggle partner all wrapped into one charming, mahogany-coated package.

Full of love, personality, and irresistible charm, Honeybear is ready to find a forever family who will adore him — and who won’t mind a sweet boy who melts into a puddle the moment he’s touched.

Honeybear is an All-Star dog! His adoption comes with some extra benefits at time of adoption. Their adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and they will go home with their very own no-pull-harness and a few enrichment goodies to help get them off to a good start! To schedule an appointment to meet Honeybear, email info@ahconnects.org (please include your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to help you!

Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
