My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾 Meet Shelly – The Sweetest Senior with So Much Love to Give

At 10 years young, Shelly is a precious little Chihuahua with the cutest face and a heart full of love. She came to us looking for a fresh start, and now she's ready to spend her golden years exactly how she deserves—being spoiled, snuggled, and surrounded by the warmth of a loving home.

Shelly may be a senior, but don’t let her age fool you—this little lady still has plenty of pep in her step! She enjoys short strolls, cozy blankets, sunbeams, and gentle cuddles with her people. Her favorite place to be is right by your side (or better yet, in your lap), soaking in all the love and attention she can get.

She’s a calm, easygoing companion who thrives in a peaceful environment where she can truly relax and feel safe. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow, a tiny best friend, and a daily dose of sweetness, Shelly is your girl.

She’s living proof that age is just a number—and that some of the best things in life come in small, senior-sized packages. 💛 Don’t miss your chance to give this perfect girl the forever home she’s been dreaming of.

Note from Shelly's Foster:
"Shelly is so full of life & love, that it is impossible not to adore her. She has come out of her shell so much since bringing her home. Shelly is loving, silly & so, so brave. I’m not sure what Shelly went through before finding Border Tails, but whatever it was, she hasn’t let it bring her down. This little girl is resilient & full of happiness.

Shelly loves going on walks & has the cutest waddle ever. She is happy to meet new people, whether its at the pet store or the drive through. She is definitely a passenger princess! Shelly is super food motivated & never misses a meal. She will let you know it’s time for dinner when she starts following you on her back legs.

Shelly is super affectionate & a bit of a 5 stage clinger, but in the best way. She has no problem with handling & loves to be close, whether she is sitting on your lap or laying on your chest. Shelly is working on potty training & the crate isn’t her favorite, but she eventually settles while I am away at work. Shelly would just prefer to be where her people are & who can blame her? Shelly does wonderful co-existing with my female pitbull. She is truly a star & will brighten your life in countless ways!"
