DOG TEST: (Good with Dogs) Milo has been tested with dogs here at the shelter and should be fine in a home with other dogs.
CAT TEST: (Okay with Cats) Milo seems to be quite scared of cats and should do fine in a home with cats
KID TEST: (Good with Kids) Milo would be good with kids of all ages! HOUSE BROKEN: (Potty Trained) Milo appears to be potty trained and keeps a clean kennel. ENERGY LEVEL: (Medium) Milo is a snuggly lover boy who adores attention from everyone he meets. He can be a bit shy at first but once he gets to know you he will shower you in kisses! He likes to chase toys and gets the zoomies outside. Milo would make a great family dog!
LEASH WALKING: (Good) Milo tends to pull a little on the leash but overall walks well. KNOWN COMMANDS: Sit (Yes) Down (No) Stay (No) Shake (Yes) Drop (No)

Our shelter is open 7 days a week. (Excluding holidays).
Monday- Friday 8am-5pm
Saturday- Sunday 10am-2pm
We ask that you come visit any time between open and no later than 30 minutes prior to closing. This ensures that staff will have enough time to assist you in meeting one of our great furry friends!

More about this shelter
We are a Municipal Animal Shelter for the City of Lee's Summit. We house animals brought in by Lee's Summit Animal Control Officers and Blue Springs Animal Control Officers.
Animals are also brought to us by owners that can no longer keep the animal or by strays that were impounded for running loose.
When an animal comes in as a stray, it is held for 5 days to give the owner a chance to claim it. If the owner does not claim it, on the 6th day it is put up for adoption or foster. During this 5 day holding period, if a potential adopter would like to adopt the animal, they are welcome to sign up on the adoption list. The names on the adoption list are contacted on the 6th day if no owner has made claim.
If there are no names on the adoption list, then the animal will become first come, first served when available for adoption.
