Freckles is a female terrier mix, born about February 14, 2025. She’s adorable with freckles all over—definitely kissed by angels. She is loving with dogs and also cat friendly. A really fun loving, engaging, and sweet dog. She’s been started on puppy vaccinations, de-worming, and is getting lots of love and positive interactions with humans in her foster home. A loving dog by nature, those instincts are becoming turbocharged with above average vet care and foster care. Adoption Fee $195. This covers the cost of spay/neuter, DHPP, Rabies, Flea, tick, heart worm check, worm treatment, and microchip. To adopt, you need to first fill out an application. Go to:

We are located in Western North Carolina, but we serve New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and additional areas with our transport. The adoption fee covers the cost of spay/neuter, PVR or FVL-CP, Rabies, Flea, tick, ear mite and worm treatment before transport. All of our pets receive a health certification prior to transport. The transport is weekly. After your application is approved, we will contact you regarding cost and delivery.

Rutherford County Humane Society is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that has been serving Rutherford County North Carolina since 1979, with the mission to significantly improve the lives of unwanted and neglected animals, and to measurably decrease this number through our spay and neuter programs, volunteer foster homes, and outreach and education. We are an independent organization that works in collaboration with other area animal advocacy groups. All of our efforts depend on our passionately compassionate volunteers, and financial support from the community. We have made the decision to use our resources to continue promoting the number one solution to our pet overpopulation problem - and that is spay/neuter.
