My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE!

Our spay and neuter project was scheduled to assist a stray in the community and much to our surprise on her scheduled spay day — that little girl blessed her owner with 4 beautiful babies! They are now going on 9 weeks and in our program to find the perfect forever homes and momma will be spayed soon. These babies will be ready in the next week once they have been vaccinated and altered. We are taking applications on these beauties now!

Go meet their pets

All of our dogs are in foster homes, but we are very easy and flexible to set an appointment up with to meet one of our animals once the adoption application is approved. We also participate regularly at adoption events with other local rescues.

More about this rescue

Wags and Whiskers is a FOSTER based small rescue along the Gulf Coast. We take in dogs from local shelters, strays and from individuals who are in need of help. We can only take in dogs that we have a foster space available for and that space is limited due to the shear number of unwanted dogs in our area. Our primary veterinarian is Dr. David Martin at Parkway Animal Hospital. He oversees all medical treatment. All dogs are current on vaccinations, dewormed, heartworm tested if they are over 6 months of age and are altered before adoption. PARKWAY ANIMAL HOSPITAL DOES NOT HOUSE OUR DOGS ONLY PROVIDE MEDICAL TREATMENT! We have an adoption process that consist of an online application that can be emailed to you, reference check, meet and greet and home visit. Adoptions will not be finalized until all procedures listed have been completed. We do not adopt on a first come first serve basis but to the best home for that particular animal when there are multiple applicants.
