Walker is a happy, resilient pup whose spirit couldn’t be broken—even after spending months in a small, rural shelter. Now thriving in a foster home, he’s showing just how loving, playful, and loyal he can be.
Walker is crate trained at night and even enjoys sleeping in on weekends without making a peep. He’s working on his house training and uses puppy pads when available. He loves a good game of fetch, especially with tennis balls and toys, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs in his foster home.
He currently lives with kids (ages 8 and 11) and is very kid-friendly. Walker is also cat-friendly, though he can play a bit rough. His foster home includes a dog-savvy cat he interacts with under supervision. While he hasn’t shown any aggression or resource guarding, he’s still learning proper play behavior.
Walker is very food- and treat-motivated, which makes training a breeze. He’s still learning how to walk politely on a leash—he tends to get excited and pull or go the wrong direction. With continued guidance, he’ll get the hang of it!
Currently weighing around 25 lbs, Walker is expected to be a small to medium-sized dog when fully grown. He would love a fenced yard where he can zoom around and would thrive with an active dog sibling to play with. Due to his high-pitched bark, apartment living isn’t ideal.
One of Walker’s cutest quirks? When he’s tired, he lets out the funniest groans and stretches—it’s guaranteed to make you smile. This friendly boy has shown nothing but love and playfulness toward everyone he meets and is ready to bring endless joy to his forever home.
To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
