Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

Meet Echo! This handsome brindle boy is such a love and very much a cuddly couch potato. He is such a good boy, loves sniffing out his surroundings. He melts in is foster's lap. Echo is all the great things in a puppy - floppy, silly and sweet. He has met dogs, cats - and has done great. We are working on crate training and all kinds of puppy training.
We got the puppies from a local shelter who said they are Boerboel / Mastiff mixes. But we didn't think they were HUGE puppies and so the DNA was sent... drum rolll please... MUTTS!! 15 different breeds - a couple different mastiffs and even bulldog! But it explains why at almost 20 weeks, they only weigh between 35-40# pounds. DNA is guessing between 70-100#, definitely large breed.
We think big dog experience, a large fenced yard and even another dog for a playmate would be wonderful. They will knock over little kids, as they have very little spacial awareness and are soft, furry wrecking balls! :)
This puppy is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot!
The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training.
Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.
Save-A-Mutt requires a training contract and $100 refundable deposit (depending on previous dog experience) on our larger breed puppies. You pick a trainer in your area, and upon completion of a 6+ week training class, we will refund the deposit.
Adoptions typically take place in Stanwood.
Adoption fee is $475.
Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.
Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home.
Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
