My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I’m Mouse, a petite 5-year-old female tortoiseshell weighing just 9 pounds. My temporary mom loved me dearly, but unfortunately, our home is no longer safe for me. Her loss is your gain! With my stunning tiger stripes and playful spirit, I’m all about cuddles! I love curling up in a cozy hammock or sitting on your lap while we watch TV. I’m also great at keeping you on schedule—I expect my favorite salmon pate wet food every day at 5 PM, and I won’t hesitate to remind you if you're running late! I adore exploring and love to open doors and cabinets around the house—there’s always something new to discover! And here’s my secret talent: when I’m in a super playful mood, I’ll toss my toy mouse at you, expecting you to throw it back. Yep, I can play fetch and return when I want to! I’m a clean kitty who enjoys being brushed, and when it’s playtime, just break out a “Cat Dancer,” and I’ll show off my impressive skills! I also love heights, so if you have a tall cat tree or armoire, that’s where you’ll find me when I’m not snuggling. Plus, I come with my cherished “Little Champ” baby blue blanket that I’ve had since I was a kitten! If you’re ready for a spirited companion filled with love, sass, and a dash of adventure, I’m your girl! Let’s make some wonderful memories together! Mouse's estimated birth date is March 11, 2020. Cats adopted from TMHPR are indoor only.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All applications are submitted to an adoption board for approval to ensure a happy forever home for both owner and pet. In effort to reduce the possibility of the pet being returned, adopters are carefully screened to be sure that the personality of both the pet and adopter are a good match. We will be in contact with you during this process.

Puppies are ready to go home after their 2nd of 3 shots and spay/neuter are complete. The 3rd. shot is included in the adoption fee.

All pets are to be kept as indoor, non-working, members of your family and are spayed and neutered before being adopted. These pets also receive all appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped.

A safe pet home visit is included in the adoption fee.

More about this rescue

Take Me Home Pet Rescue is a 100% nonprofit organization committed to reducing the homeless pet population by removing dogs and cats from shelters and other unfortunate situations and having them spayed, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted to their forever families.

We consists of a small core group of volunteers who care about the welfare of our homeless pets. We are located in Richardson, Texas and survive solely from your generous donations and fundraiser's (after fundraiser...after fundraiser!). All of our pets live in our homes as we do not have an actual facility. Because they live within the dynamics of the foster families and are exposed to children of all ages and other pets, we find that that our foster cats and dogs are more adoptable as they have already been socialized to live in a family environment.

We have been in existence since April 2008 and have already rescued over 600 dogs and cats from local kill shelters and other unfortunate situations.

All dogs and cats are spayed and neutered before being adopted. These pets also receive all appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped. In effort to reduce the possibility of the pet being returned, adopters are carefully screened to be sure that the personality of both the pet and adopter are a good match.
