My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

4/30 ADOPTION PENDING - NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

Animal Profile:  Sailor is a ‘Z factor’ Doberman. This refers to the Oculocutaneous Albinism trait. Sailor  and her 3 siblings were part of a surprise litter born in foster care here in Washington. Mama Faye was picked up as an emaciated stray in Southern California. Faye showed no signs of pregnancy and we were trying to get her to a healthy weight before surgery. She gave birth to the puppies the night before her spay was scheduled.! The puppies were born on March 6th,  and are now healthy and available for adoption. They have been well socialized with people and other animals, and will need families familiar with working breeds that are committed to proper socialization and providing training from an early age. True to the Doberman breed, these dogs will be family oriented, incredibly smart, and athletic.

Adopter Profile:

  • Working breed dog experience required
  • Doberman experience a plus
  • No first time dog owners
  • Securely fenced yard preferred
  • Single family residence required (no apartments)

Foster Update: Sailor could have been named Captain! She’s always at the head of the pack searching for a new adventure. She’s playful, curious, cuddly and sweet. She’s in her shark tooth era, so she enjoys a good chew every day. Sailor is eager to engage and loves to follow you around to explore. She can be a talker, and just wants to make sure you don’t forget her! These puppies were started on litter training and doing great! Potty training will be a work in progress - she will need a consistent schedule and frequent breaks for her tiny bladder. Luna loves to play tug, chase rubber balls, and cuddle up on her soft bed and blankets. She’s going to make a beautiful lifelong companion for one lucky family!

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes spay/neuter required within 90 days, age appropriate vaccinations, deworming and microchip. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.
