Meet Peaches! Peaches is a beautiful girl who has been described as talkative, affectionate, and playful and she is ready to get into her new home and show you all of it! Peaches is a cat who is going to take some extra time and space when she first is getting adjusted to your home, once she has had that time and space she is going to begin to show you she is ready to be your best friend! Peaches ahs lived with young kids and did tend to avoid them, especially when they were being loud. Peaches may do well living with older more calm kids who will give her the space she needs. Peaches came in to Dakin with her sister, Cream, who is also available for adoption if you are looking for a pair! Peaches is looking forward to meeting you and, hopefully, coming home with you soon!
Change is hard for this cat. This cat will be very nervous when you first bring them home. You will need to set up a room with a litter box, food, and water. It will take days for this cat to become comfortable and confident in the new home. This cat will be going home with a behavior plan that will need to be followed in order for everyone to transition successfully.
Ready to Adopt?
You have two options:
#1- VISIT IN PERSON
Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter.
(Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.)
#2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD**
If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours.
**Holds are not available on Saturdays and during adoption events.

All cat adoption fees include;
-spay/neuter
-rabies vaccine
-current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian)
-FeLV/FIV blood test
-microchip implanted & registered to the adopter
-treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites
-veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin
-free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians
Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
