My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FWANK (aka FRANK) is a handsome all-black senior guy who always looks like he’s winking because he only has one eye. This condition doesn’t slow him down in the least! He loves people and is very active, friendly, and sociable. Fwank is in good health for a senior kitty, although he does eat a Hills Z/D prescription diet (which he loves). He recently had a complete dental.  He came to our rescue as the beloved pet of a woman who went into a care facility. He has an amazing amount of energy and is ready to lavish his new humans with love and affection!

Fwank's age is a rough estimate from when he was first relinquished to our rescue.  At his most recent vet visit, the vet said "Seems younger than 15. Vibrant and good body condition."

FWANK has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, and include a free wellness visit with our vet partners. To meet FWANK in foster care, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy at either Eugene PetSmart location. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 business days for a possible meet and greet. The adoption fee for Fwank is $70, which allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community.  For more information, send an email to AdoptInfo@CatRescues.org or call 541-225-4955 option 1. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters are required to complete our application and contract. It is available on our website: https://catrescues.org/forms/cat-adoption-contract/ A paper copy is available at our adoption sites. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet.
All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, have been de-wormed, treated with flea medication at intake, spayed or neutered, and have been microchipped and tested for felv/fiv tested.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to provide care and find loving homes for cats and kittens of our community, with a focus on those with special needs. Currently we only work with Cats. We offer temporary housing in foster homes until they can be placed through our adoption process. We have adoption centers within both Petsmarts in Eugene, at Chad Drive, near Costco, and 29th and Willamette, at Wags Dog Emporium on Coburg Rd and the Eugene-Springfield Cat Lounge. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network works with humane societies, other animal rescue groups, the public and government animal services agencies to offer them relief from their overpopulation problem. All cats in our custody receive the medical care they need. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network is a non-profit organization. All money raised is used to help Cat Rescue & Adoption Network save as many animal lives as possible.
