My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shiner is a male white with black chihuahua. He is age-guessed as 1-3 years old and he weighs 11 pounds. Shiner is recently neutered. He is vaccinated including rabies. Shiner is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm preventive. Shiner is ready for adoption.

Shiner is Valentine #2 from our group rescued on Valentine’s Day, all pulled from the same overcrowded home. He is one of the few with a name recorded on his paperwork, but it is quite a fitting name, worthy of a giggle every time you see him. Shiner was a tad skeptical on day one, offering a growl or two in a highly stressful situation, but he was over it in about 20 minutes and has shown himself to be a very loving, loyal fellow. Shiner should be fine with other dogs and could probably live peacefully with a cat given some time to adjust. He is crate trained and potty trained. Shiner is ready to shine in his new home.

A completed adoption application and, upon approval, an adoption contract is required. Jeff Tarpley Rescue welcomes applications from homeowners, renters, and condo or apartment dwellers. At a minimum, a phone interview will be conducted and a vet reference checked before the applicant may meet their preferred pet.

We adopt primarily in the 4 states of the ArkLaTexOma. Applicants willing to travel to Texarkana will also be considered with additional requirements to qualify as approved.
