Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Species Profile Common Name: Goofy Land Seal Dog Scientific Name: Terraphoca Wigglus Family: Caniphocidae (dog-seal hybrids) Status: Critically Adorable
Description: Terraphoca Wigglus is a rare, highly sought-after species known for its gleeful expression, floppy physique, and impossibly long, lolling tongue. Coated in soft fur rather than sleek blubber, this land seal has adapted perfectly to domestic habitats, preferring couches, laps, and sun patches for basking.
Behavior: Engages in frequent "bellyflop displays" to signal happiness. Uses a wide, derpy grin to attract snacks and affection. Highly vocal, producing a range of sounds from "snorts" to "happy grumbles." Exhibits "zoomie spirals" at random intervals, particularly after naps.
Habitat: Native to living rooms, backyards, and sometimes vet offices (reluctantly). Constructs temporary dens out of blankets, laundry piles, and laps. Enjoys shoreline exploration (especially mud puddles and bathtubs).
Special Adaptations: Boopable nose: Designed for maximum interaction with humans. Supersonic tongue flaps: Used for both cooling and comedic effect. Wiggle propulsion system: Rear-end wiggling accelerates joyful greetings.
Fun Fact: Despite appearing blubbery and clumsy, Terraphoca Wigglus can achieve short bursts of incredible speed — often when hearing the word “treat” or spotting a squirrel. Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.
Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.
Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet. Fees: Dogs over 6 months old: $100 Puppies under 6 months: $200. Cats and Kittens are $75 ($65 without microchip).
For your convenience you can fill out an adoption application for any of our current residents at www.moaspets.com. Join us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/moaspets. It's a great way to stay up to the minute on the furry 4 legged friends we have looking for a loving forever home. We are located at: 1888 Colbert Danielsville Rd Danielsville, GA 30633 706-795-2868
NOTE: Our adoptions are first come first served, simply filling out an application does not mean the animal will be held for you, you must come meet the animal in person in order to be considered for adoption. If you rent you must bring your lease or a letter from your landlord stating you may adopt.
