My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Government name: Stuart
Nicknames: Stootypants, Stoots, Stewie, Stubie, Studebaker, Stootie Patootie, Studer, Stoot.

The man of a thousand names.

Stoots is suspected to have PRA, or Progressive Retinal Atrophy. It is a progressive, degenerative disease that will cause eventual complete blindness, with no cure. It is not contagious, a death sentence, and he is not painful in any way, shape, or form. Felines diagnosed still lead a wonderful, happy, and healthy lifestyle, despite this shortcoming.
Stuart exhibits blindness (not complete; he can make out certain shapes, and is incredibly smart with figuring out where things are, following your voice/floor taps, and yes - he will climb chairs, too, to get your attention). However, he is also incredibly cautious getting around (if it is a new/undiscovered area). His nosiness and curiosity outweigh any fear that may arise.

Stuart has a very special, incredibly sweet bond with young Mercury. We do not often recommend pairing seniors and kittens, but this is some sort of adorably perfect match that we simply cannot imagine separating.
