Meet Mercy

Sweet Mercy has come a very long way since we rescued her and her babies. She was used for breeding to the point where she had mastitis, infected necrotic tissue on her nipples , she was severely emaciated to the point where she could barely stand or walk, she also had a broken hip that had healed wrong, arthritis in her spine from having so many litters, and so much more. She was left in a box in the rain for 3 days with her newborn puppies. She was dying and starved with no milk, but she kept trying to save them. By the time we got to them, Mercy needed emergency surgery to remove her infected uterus. No one expected her to survive but we took a chance and she pulled through. She was fighting for her babies whom we had to separate to bottle feed. Only 4 of 8 survived.
They have since been reunited with their mama. Her pups are husky /doberman mix. We suspect they were dumped due to not being purebred dobermans. Her pups will be available once they are 8 weeks old and Mercy will be ready once we figure out if her hip needs surgery (which the rescue would do) or if it’s better to leave it as is since its already calcified and healed. She loves other dogs , but takes a minute to warm up at first. She is very affectionate with her humans and wants to cuddle all day. She does get sad to be left alone but will eventually just relax until her humans come home. She should not be alone for more than a few hours. Mercy is so very special.
