My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sol is an 8-year-old, 11-pound female chihuahua mix from Tijuana! Her name reflects her sunny personality- Sol is a happy, youthful, social and loving pup. She has adjusted very well to city life and loves long walks, belly rubs, meeting new dogs and people, and snuggling up next to you on the couch. Don’t let her frosted face fool you! Sol is just as excited to spend the day out and about as she is chilling with you at home. If you’re looking for a companion who is ready for a perfectly balanced city life, Sol’s your girl.

Sol is fantastic on a leash! Walks are her all-time favorite activity and she walks beautifully on a loose lead by your side without pulling or reacting to other dogs or people. She is relaxed and extra happy on walks, with her tail constantly wagging. Sol is the absolute perfect walking buddy! And whenever she gets home from a walk, Sol is extra playful. Her big personality is already shining through and her new family is going to be very lucky to get to continue to see this amazing girl blossom over the years.

Sol seems to be housetrained. She has not had any accidents in her pen while home alone or overnight and is doing well with a consistent schedule. She is working on building confidence and loves solving puzzle toys. She is one smart diva and is ready to continue with her training and mental enrichment!

Her forever family will need to continue working with Sol to maintain a strong routine that will help her feel safe and secure. Sol struggles with being left at home alone, but enjoys the company of other dogs and is relaxed and calm when other pups are home with her. She would thrive in a home with other dogs around her size and where someone will be with her most of the day. She sleeps quietly through the night (aside from a few adorable little snores!) cozied up in her kennel or burrowed underneath the covers in bed with you.

Sol is looking for a medium-energy family. She appreciates a good balance of downtime and active moments and would benefit from a calm household with someone who works from home or can take her into the office. She would do best with another dog at home who matches her size and energy level. Sol has been good with older children and would make a great pet for a family with the right schedule!

Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and Lepto. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

To apply for Sol, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for a foster application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.

Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.
