Kippy is ready to purr her way right into your heart! This 12 1/2-year-old, dilute tortie girl was adopted several year ago but was recently returned to HART when circumstances in her home changed. Gentle and friendly, she tends to keep to herself here at the shelter, but she really enjoys being petted and spoken to. She dislikes most other cats, so she would be happiest as the only cat in the home.
Kippy is diabetic, and her condition is currently well-managed with a low-carb, wet food only diet (we feed our diabetics Fancy Feast Classic Pate) and twice-daily insulin injections. HART's Medical Team has years of experience caring for diabetic cats, and they will provide training in diabetic cat care (it’s easier than you think!), as well as send Kippy home with a blood-glucose testing kit, a vial of insulin with related supplies, and a generous starter amount of canned food. In order to make these preparations, she won't be able to go home on the same day that you meet her. We will require that her adopter has an established relationship with a veterinarian. Meet Kippy in Room 4.
