Start the New Year with a fresh beginning and a loyal best friend! Minnow is an 11-month-old, tan, spayed Staffordshire mix weighing about 38 pounds, and she’s ready to make this year her best one yet—right by your side. Minnow is the kind of dog who turns resolutions into reality. Want to run more? She’s already logging 3+ miles a day and still has energy to play after a nap. Hoping for better manners? She’s housetrained, crate trained, leash trained and even runs politely next to a recumbent trike. She knows sit, stay, no, leave it, and stop, and with her food motivation and strong desire to please, she’s excited to learn whatever comes next. This sweet girl is wonderful with dogs and kids, and while she doesn’t live with cats, she shows no interest in them—or even the neighborhood peacocks—while out on walks. Minnow’s social, confident nature makes her a joy to take anywhere. When the day winds down, Minnow’s cuddle mode kicks in. She loves curling up beside you, resting her head in your lap, or adorably parking herself on your feet. Her downtime is spent with her favorite chew toys and sleeping with her beloved stuffies, recharging for the next adventure. Minnow’s journey started as a dumped puppy found by ACS and later returned to SAPA, but she embraced her second chance with an open heart. Her best quality is her genuine eagerness to make her people happy—every single day. Her ideal New Year match is an active household with a runner, kids, or another dog to play with. Minnow would not thrive as a solo or low-activity dog; she’s happiest when she has companionship, movement, and purpose. She has no known medical issues and currently thrives on a prescription diet (Purina Pro Plan EN Gastroenteric). Other over-the-counter foods cause vomiting or loose stools, so she may have food sensitivities. This New Year, don’t just set resolutions—set memories. Minnow is ready to run, cuddle, learn, and love her way into your heart and home.

Our mission is to provide the programs and services needed to eliminate the killing of at-risk animals due to lack of space, adopter or foster.
San Antonio Pets Alive! is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Due to alarming euthanasia rates, San Antonio Pets Alive! (SAPA!) was founded in 2012. SAPA! is unique—it is the only high paced, high-volume rescue in San Antonio, saving 6,000 at-risk cats and dogs annually.
Since its inception, SAPA! has saved more than 47,000 dogs and cats. SAPA! provides safety nets for the dogs and cats that fall through the cracks of all other lifesaving options and end up on the euthanasia lists, often with just hours to be saved. SAPA! promotes the availability of these dogs and cats to other rescues, adopters and fosters.
