Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Loveliness and grace! Benevolence and devotion! These are just a few words to describe this sweet calico girl we call Kate which means “pure” in Greek. A wonderful name for a wonderful cat!
Kate is still young, around 3 years old, and is so full of love to share with her new family. No more crazy kitten antics for this girl. The very occasional zoomies but no knocking breakables off the shelves or climbing the curtains. Zoomies stay on ground level. In fact, she is very mellow and easy-going, taking life in stride.
This sweet girl is great about being held and loves to lay down and get comfortable for full body pets. She doesn’t purr very often but when she does it’s soft as a whisper and you must listen to it and it is so calming. Kate really loves lounging on the cat tree for a nap and is always in the kitchen with you. She particularly loves the kitchen, waiting for her favorite cat snack. She is quite vocal and has the most delightful meow when you talk to her.
Kate is one of the unusual kitties who has glaucoma. Just the beginning stage that is taken care of with daily eyedrops. She can see just fine, and this doesn’t affect normal day to day activities. Every 6 months or so, she will need a vet checkup. There may come a time when the condition gets worse or the eyedrops may control the pressure.
Kate is doing great with the dog in her foster home. She is still adjusting to being around other cats as she was an only cat for most of her life. She would be fine with one other cat who will respect her space and not try to be her friend. Kate would also do well as an only cat in her new home as this is all she had known until coming into rescue.
Kate is blossoming in life in general. She has a gentle and confident spirit about her, and she doesn’t hide it. A great joy to her is to lie on the hardwood floor in the rays of the sun. With the welcoming promise of warmer days ahead she will need a safe place to spend some time outside as this is a joy she has never known. We can’t wait until she gets to take her first step into the warm grass and explore all the hidden treasures that nature has to offer.
She is in Palmer. Please call 907-350-8089. Thank you!
