My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gadget (aka Rompy)

This sweet tripod boy is looking for a new home—not because of anything he did wrong, but due to a personal matter in his current family’s life.

He’s currently located in Nyack, New York, but potential adopters do not need to be local. If we find the right match, we’re happy to arrange transportation to get Gadget to his forever family.

Gadget arrived in the U.S. from India nearly 4.5 years ago after surviving a difficult start to life. Born on the streets in a hostile area, he was injured in an accident that left one of his front legs crushed and beyond repair. It was amputated, and with time and care, he made a remarkable recovery—even regaining use of his other injured front leg.

Now around 5 years old, Gadget is a gentle, super affectionate soul who adores people. He loves being near his humans, soaking up attention, and will nudge you for pets or belly rubs—sometimes even giving a little nibble to ask for more. He’s happiest lounging around the house and basking in the sun.

Gadget has successfully lived with another dog and does well with other dogs in one-on-one settings. Large group settings can make him feel vulnerable, so he’s more comfortable in calm social situations.

On walks, he can show moderate reactivity—he may bark at other dogs, but he doesn’t lunge, growl, or show aggression. His behavior is manageable and varies depending on who’s walking him. He responds well to treats and positive reinforcement.

The great thing about Gadget is he’s already potty trained, quiet, well-mannered indoors, doesn’t need a lot of activity, and is a loyal sidekick who simply wants to be near you.

We’re looking for an adult-only home or a family with older children who can respect his boundaries and communication style. Gadget would be a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving, low-key pup to share their life with.

In lieu of an adoption fee, we ask that adopters commit to two training sessions with our trusted trainer to help set everyone up for success.
