All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston. Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system. To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters. Our adoption fee varies by dog. We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Zelle, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only. A FTA contract is required.
Cotton was surrendered by his family to be euthanized when he quit eating.
The shelter reached out to us. We immediately took him to our vet where it was discovered he was in excruciating pain. His mouth was full of decay and disease.
During his dental, his jaw BROKE. literally, snapped off while under anesthesia.
We rushed him to our ortho surgeon who masterfully repaired and restored his jaw using metal plate and pins/screws.
Cotton has recovered and been medically released. He is a sweet boy, who loves to WOOOOOO. He has some anxiety being left alone so a full-time caregiver / lap loaner would be his preference.
Cotton was on soft food for 8 weeks and is now transitioning to kibble. he does fine.
Cotton does go dry overnight.

Immediately upon receipt of your application, an auto-response email is sent. If you didn't get it, check SPAM. VET RECORDS ARE REQUIRED.
Home Check
You must send VET RECORDS. Home visits are required for puppies and first time pet owners
