Sweet Shoyu was found with severe trauma to his head, necessitating extreme medical care to help it heal. We took notice of him for his extreme background and adorably unique grumpy face, but fell in love with the gentle heart of this sweet boy.
Shoyu's journey hasn't been easy. Along with the trauma he's endured, we found he had been shot and has a pellet lodged in the skin around his neck, and he's been diagnosed with FeLV. His FeLV is thankfully currently regressive, meaning he will have less negative effects of the virus, and it will be more difficult for him to shed to other cats. However, he should ideally go to an experienced adopter who has experience with FeLV as an only cat, or a companion for another FeLV positive cat.
If you're looking for a snuggle buddy who will greet you with gentle meows when you come home after a long day, asking for a few, soft pets and then gently curl up at your side purring, Shoyu is the kitty for you. We cannot express enough what a gentle and loving boy he is, and he exudes loves.
Shoyu is up neutered, dewormed, microchipped, on flea preventative, negative for FIV, and up to date on his FVRCP and rabies vaccines.

While our special needs cats are often listed as $0 to help remove barriers to their forever homes, we do appreciate donations so we can continue to help the most vulnerable cats in our community.
