My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miss Molly Mae is ready to find her forever home. Molly is a beautiful 6 1/2 year old red tri Australian Shepherd with a full tail. She is being fostered in Soddy Daisy, TN.

Molly found herself in need of a new home due to her previous owner's declining health. It was a very hard decision for him but he knew that it was in Molly's best interest. ASF was contacted and immediately stepped up for Molly.
Unfortunately, once Molly came into rescue, it was determined that she was heartworm positive. A treatment plan was set into place and she has now completed her treatment and has a clean bill of health. Yay Molly!

Molly is a very laid back girl and the ideal home for her would be one very similar to what she had with her previous owner... quiet and comforting. She is content spending her days right at home. A fenced in yard and a porch are definitely a plus! She enjoys roaming around the yard watching the wildlife and then will lay on the porch taking it all in. While inside, she will lay in her bed (or on the couch if allowed) next to you and be perfectly happy! She is totally fine being an only dog, but would also be ok with another laid back furry friend. She is such a good girl and so eager to please.

Molly is spayed, current on all vaccinations, on heartworm prevention and microchipped.

If you are looking for a new companion and feel your home would be a wonderful place for Molly to land, please complete our adoption application with the link provided.

There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new furever family.

More about this rescue

Nancy Gonzalez, founder and CEO, created Australian Shepherds Furever (ASF), a non-profit organization to promote the educated adoption and rescue of the Australian Shepherd (Aussie) dog breed.

In July of 2012, ASF initiated as a Facebook page hoping to have 1,000 user "likes" by the end one year. The page quickly outgrew expectations, now with a network of nearly 67,000 individuals striving to provide aid and refuge to Aussies all over the country.

Using the Facebook page as a platform, the website www.australianshepherdsfurever.org was developed as an additional resource aimed at educating the public on this intelligent and beautiful breed. It provides resources for those seeking help, or those willing to contribute to the Adopt, Save, Foster (ASF) philosophy. Through this philosophy, ASF has saved the lives of countless dogs and helped to provide assistance to those that have nowhere else to turn.

We as humans have a responsibility to speak up and take action in favor of those beings that are less fortunate. Thanks to a team of passionate and proactive volunteers, Aussies nationwide are given a chance at a better life through Australian Shepherds Furever.
