My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

This handsome gray, brown and white kitty is named Freckles because of the freckles around his nose, but he’s looking for a more grown up name.  . He is still shy with new friends, but is not a hider. When he’s comfortable, he absolutely loves belly and chin rubs and will roll around on his back to get your attention. He is happy on a warm lap and even loves to be held like a baby. He’s very gentle in his interactions and is easy to pick up and handle.

Freckles also loves to talk and trill. He will join you in conversation and acknowledge you when you say hello. He loves attention and prefers company to being alone. He is on the path to learning how to play with cat toys when gently encouraged, although he’s still nervous in play mode; this will surely change as he gets more confidence. He’s polite with other cats. We don’t know how he is with dogs. He’s happiest when being petted and he happily purrs to show you he approves.

Freckles has just started getting the hang of being a domestic kitty. He’s looking for someone who understands his gentle nature and is willing to coax him out of his shell a little more each day. He’s smart and sweet and is looking to be the love of your life.

13thstcats.org is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit, No-Kill Rescue Group based in San Jose.

We try our best to match our cats to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular cat

More about this rescue

13th Street Cats is an all volunteer organization dedicated to improving the lives of feral and social cats and reducing the population by TNR – Trap, Neuter, Return in Santa Clara County. Kittens and cats that can be socialized are taken into foster care while waiting adoption. With a no kill philosophy, 13th St Cats is pleased to be able to rescue these homeless animals who might otherwise end up in a local kill shelter, helping to reduce euthanasia rates.
