Peanut butter is looking for his furever home.
I cannot deny that letting this boy go will be hard on me but I know that there is a loving home out there for him. Besides if I keep him I need to get him a bunwife and if I do that I will not he able to save more bunnies.
This cute and extremely sweet boy came to us from Animal Care and Control that asked for assistance with a critically ill rabbit in need of immediate care to avoid euthanasia.
This poor boy, estimated to be at least one year old, was severely emaciated, weighing only 0.8lbs.
When I went to shelter to pick him up I thought he would be dead within minutes so malnourished, dehydrated and skinny he was. Following a veterinary examination, it was confirmed that he was suffering from anemia and exhibited irregularities in his blood work, which was not unexpected given his emaciated state.
Today, 31 days later, his weight has increased to 3.7lbs, his skin has recovered beautifully from a bad urine scalding, indicating that this poor boy was previously confined to a cage and forced to urinate on himself. 😞💔
Despite his ordeal, Peanut Butter is an EXTREMELY affectionate rabbit, and it is heartbreaking to witness such a gentle creature being subjected to neglect.
I know Peanut Butter will make a wonderful addition to any family seeking a loving and cuddly companion.
