My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Truman !!
We recently took in this sweet boy and his adorable siblings from a family that was unable to support feeding and caring for them anymore.
Truman is a happy, hardy, playful boy. He loves to wrestle and play. He’s amazing with kids that want to play ruff with him. He loves it all. Super sweet boy and so much fun.
He is approx 4.5 months old and male. He appears to be Pit-bull type mix (judging from mom’s photo) and should be medium size when full grown. His mom looked to be about 50 pounds and dad is unknown. He was 16 pounds at his last vet visit.
He came to us very skinny and full of worms. He is recovered and doing great now. (He was still skinny in some photos as they were taken throughout his time here.)
Truman has been vaccinated, dewormed, neutered, and given a microchipped. He is on monthly preventatives.
He has been doing really well with all of his house manners. He been doing really good with potty training with the use of a doggie door. He is crate trained and does well with leash walking. He loves car rides. He has not had any trouble sharing food treats and toys with humans or other dogs. He loves to explore and play but is also sweet and cuddly. He is a fun, curious and happy puppy. His foster describes him as eager to learn and smart.
Truman loves other dogs and loves kids. He loves to play with anyone or anything that will play with him. He has not met any cats yet so we are unsure how he would do. All of his brothers that have met cats have done well with them.
He loves to play, fetch, cuddle, very willing to learn, treat motivated and has already learned to sit and lay down. A very smart and trainable guy.
So far he has a medium to high energy level. He will need playtime and both mental and physical exercise every day but also has a very chill and cuddly side afterward. Puppies not given proper exercise can display destructive behaviors and have difficulty with training and manners. How they turn out is largely up to how much effort and time your family puts into them now. He has the potential to be wonderfully trained and well behaved dogs.
If you’re looking for a sweet and playful guy that’s almost fully trained than Truman may be the one!
Vet and home checks required.
Located in Hampton VA.
(He will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius)
