My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kora is an energetic, affectionate pup bursting with personality and always ready to play. She’s smart, curious, and loves being close to her people — sometimes a little too much! While she can be a zoomie queen inside, she walks beautifully on leash and really shines outdoors. Kora thrives with structure, positive reinforcement, and plenty of exercise. She has a history of being crate trained, house trained, and very toy-motivated (though no toy holds her attention for long!). With continued training and the right active home, Kora will make an incredibly loyal and loving companion.

Though she’s very friendly and curious, her excitement can come out in big jumps and mouthy behavior, so a home with older kids and no shared attention with other protective pets would be ideal. A house with a yard, an active routine, and someone around often would help Kora feel secure and fulfilled. With the right guidance and patience, she has all the potential to become a balanced, joyful companion.

Looking for a fun, high-energy best friend? Kora might just be your girl!

More about this shelter

We serve the pets and people in Northern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin. Our mission is clear: To take responsibility for each and every orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected dog and cat which reaches our doors; to take them in and shelter them; to provide the best medical and physical care possible for them; to nurture them back to health if need be; and finally to place them into warm, loving, adoptive homes where they can enjoy the lives they deserve.
