Loki is an 8 year old pure-bred Samoyed who we adopted as an 8 month old puppy. He is/was our first dog.
Reasons for rehoming:
- My Health (he needs regular walking and I have developed mobility issues over the last two years).
- My Wife wanted other animals and Loki is prey driven - sees Cats/Rabbits/Chickens etc. as prey.
This decision has not been reached easily. Loki is a great family dog. He is good with all humans and other dogs. He has never been aggressive toward another dog (unless food is involved). He loves attention, rough-housing (tug of war etc.) and walks.
Samoyeds are an independent breed - please research. Will need to be leashed while walking (poor recall). Has been trained with a invisible fence + collar in yard.
To be considered as Loki's new owner you must:
- Not be a first time dog owner.
- Have a yard that he can play in.
- No crating while you are away from home.
- Be physically capable of handling a medium size, strong dog. Loki has plenty of energy left.
