They call me Thor but I`m not as brave and powerful as my name would suggest. But I once was and I hope that with the help of someone like you, I can be that dog again. I had a human who loved me, but life happened (as it too often does) and before I knew it I was calling a kennel at the shelter my home and surrounded by strangers. I`ll be honest, it took a while for me to get here- the adoption floor. I`m a one person kind of dog and I didn`t want to let others in. But staff have been patient and kind; they haven`t given up on me and I don`t want to let them down. I can tell you that I like to keep my circle small and am loyal to a fault. I enjoy the company of other dogs who match my energy and could take or leave cats. I`d love to find a human who has experience with my breed, lives an active lifestyle and will be dedicated to my success and mental wellbeing. I`d love to be someone`s dog again.

All members of the household are required to visit the pet prior to adoption. In the case of dogs, other dogs in the household must meet potential new dog. Selections are not made on a first come basis, but an overall likelihood of a successful placement based on the application information and meetings. Located in beautiful north central Wisconsin, we have a beautiful new facility and dog walking trails. We are a full service, unlimited admissionhumane society shelter contracted with the county to house all stray animals. We believe in the humane and ethical treatment of all living creatures, and promote these beliefs in our actions and educational outreach programs. We work with rescue groups, volunteers, and the public to promote sterilization of companion pets and "forever" homes. All dogs, cats and rabbits are sterilized before adoption or have a scheduled appointment at a time determined by veterinary staff.
