Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Checkers is an adorable dutch bunny looking for the opportunity to steal your heart! He was one of ten rabbits rescued from a Fullerton school yard in Orange County. Sometime in 2024 someone released two bunnies in the school vegetable garden and of course you know what happens when unfixed rabbits are left to their own devices--babies!
This little guy is content to sit by your side receiving head rubs while you go about your life of watching TV, reading, scrolling your devices, etc. Just keep one hand petting his noggin' and you're good to go!!
He's also a big time tooth chatterer which is so easy to detect when you place your hand near his jawline.
He's so distinguished looking with a little bit of white on his left ear.
He's a genteel guy who loves it when you camp out on the floor next to him in his enclosure. He willingly takes treats from your hands. He doesn't shy away from your affection.
He was rescued on April 20, 2025. He was neutered on April 28, 2025.. His estimated date of birth is January 2025. He currently weighs 2.81 pounds.
Checkers should start out living in an exercise pen (x-pen) otherwise known as a puppy pen. He can have that as his home base or transition to a room or a section of a room or free roaming. A cage/hutch is not recommended unless the door is open and an x-pen can be placed around it.
Please be over 21 if inquiring about a rabbit.
Checkers can be seen by appointment in Lake Elsinore after a questionnaire is completed or a phone consultation conducted. On adoption day, plan to spend approximately one hour at the rescue going over paperwork and general rabbit care information.
PLEASE consult with the rescue before you purchase rabbit supplies so you can be directed to the least expensive and most appropriate rabbit essentials, especially if you’ve never had the pleasure of owning a rabbit! Your local big chain pet store is probably NOT the best place to buy rabbit supplies!
If you have a spayed/neutered single bun searching for a friend, there are plenty of rescue rabbits here available for my signature rapid romance bunny bonding. Male/female bondings are usually recommended. See the following link for more information: https://rabbit.org/care/bonding
