Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Daisy Mae is a beautiful Great Dane with a gentle soul and a whole lot of love to give. This big girl is ready for a fresh start with a family who will adore her as much as she deserves. If you are a Dane lover, Daisy Mae will steal your heart. She is very sweet, housebroken, walks well on a leash, and does well with kids. She is currently staying at the shelter so stop in and meet her in person!
Daisy Mae prefers to be the only pet in the home as she does not do well with cats or other dogs with the exception of Howard, who she has lived with her entire life. Howard is also available for adoption.
Daisy Mae has been in the shelter far too long and is patiently waiting for someone to see just how special she is. Daisy Mae would love nothing more than to be cherished and spoiled by her forever family. Please consider adopting Daisy Mae and giving her the loving home she has been waiting for.
Daisy Mae is seven years old and weighs about 120 pounds.
The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. helpingstrays.org

Go meet their pets
We welcome you to stop by our facility located at 4221 Hanover Road in Columbia, IL.
We promote the humane care of all abandoned and stray animals in our community. We are a no-kill shelter. All of our pets leave the shelter for their forever homes micro-chipped, up to date on vaccines, and altered.
Founded in 2002, Helping Strays is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization supported entirely by donations.
Our lucky animals receive appropriate medical care, are featured on the Helping Strays website "adoption list" and are taken to several adoption events every month in an attempt to find permanent, loving homes.
