My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rufus has had a tough life already. He was rescued from being killed due to his small size. We believe he can see shadows but is almost totally blind. It is unclear what happened but one veterinarian suspects trauma to his head hard enough to blow out his pupils. Whether it was from a fall or an intentional blow, we are not sure. Rufus is about 1.5 years old and about 15 lbs.

He has been with his rescuer for several months and has been doing well. However, his beagle nose has kicked in and they are having trouble keeping him on the property since they don't have a fence. They were keeping him on a run and wanted better for him so reached out for help.

His blindness doesn’t hold him back although he is a little timid and uneasy. He is unaccustomed to a leash and will need work getting comfortable on one. Rufus is good with other dogs, super sweet, friendly and affectionate. He is playful with toys and other dogs. He especially likes chew toys.

Rufus will arrive in Massachusetts in early June.
