Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hey there ! I'm the Jitterbug. I'm all about fun. I'm good with all people. Not good with Cats. I'm a bundle of FENERGY That's fun➕ energy. I make up words. I'm a mcwordo. I just got here and am still settling in. I'm 46 pounds of pure sweeeetness. ⭐️I knows "sit" and will sit at my kennel and the gate for long time for the treattttttYUM but will also try to jump for treats. That's a Bonus. Your welcome. My fun bounces right out of me. ⭐️I keep my kennel neat. ⭐️I'm smarts and love learning things. TRAINING is recommended for littleme to be my best cream puff self. I'm delightful... I'm deliberate.... And mostly dedicated to living life in grand style. My Background? Well Mr Animal Control man rescued me from the pen I was in , in the yard and now I'm free! I haven't had much in life so far. I'm excited about any and all things given to me. I love being free to run around. That pen was tiny and I tried to stick my head through the squares. Not my best idea but it all worked out. Hobbies?: Dancing the night away-Cupid Shuffle, watch me Wobble, or even my do my Watermelon Crawl. I'm ready to rock and roll with any Texas two step. Cooking? Sure, I'm a 5 star Taste tester. Sign me up. I've got lots of love to give so hurry down to meet me. I'm moving up and out sooooon. I've gotten a taste of the good life and now I want a sofa, some snuggles and a squeaky toy and I'll be all set! And keep those treats coming. Come check out my jitterbug action. I make life fun!! ⭐️Come join me!!

Adoption fee includes basic vaccinations, worming, flea treatment, feline-leukemia/FIV test, heartworm test, spay/neuter (done prior to leaving), rabies vaccination and a microchip
There is a contract and all potential adopters meet with adoption counselor to talk about application and make sure pet is good fit with the person and family. A "meet and greet" is required with all family members and the pet prior to finalizing the adoption application. We may do a home visit either pre or post-adoption. Animals adopted from us are not be sold or given to another person. More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Wicomico County was started in 1968 by a group of people who wanted to help improve the lives of animals. We have come a long way in our 40+ years! We have a staff dedicated to making sure the animals that come to our doors are loved and protected as they wait for their forever home. Not only are our animals vaccinated, wormed and given flea preventative, we can treat animals that come to us with mange, ringworm, heartworm and pay for animals to be seen by an outside vet should there be a need. We have an on-site spay/neuter clinic that not only is used for our animals but we also offer low cost spay/neuter for animals of the public. We provide emergency boarding for victims of domestic abuse, fire, and medical emergencies. We also have the capability to set up an off-site emergency shelter for people evacuated from their homes. In addition, we have an education program to help teach kids about being a responsible pet guardian. We work with a wide range of rescue groups and our animals have been transported from our mid-Atlantic area throughout the North Eastern United States. Our shelter is an open admission shelter and we will take in approximately 3500 animals this year. We do what we do because of our love for animals and our desire to make a difference in their lives every single day.
