Emmy is a playful, affectionate pup who’s full of personality and charm. She absolutely loves her chew toys and playing with other dogs—though she can sometimes be the classic “annoying little sister” in the best, most lovable way!
Smart and eager to please, Emmy already knows “sit” and “paw,” and she learned how to play fetch in just one day thanks to her strong treat motivation. She’s working hard on her leash manners and recall, and she enjoys exploring the world around her—especially grassy patches and the occasional squirrel sighting.
Emmy is crate and potty trained, and she thrives in a home where someone is around part-time or works from home. She’s still got some puppy energy and would do best with supervised play around small children, just in case she forgets she’s not a tiny baby anymore.
Emmy does have an old, healed fracture in one of her legs that resulted in the limb being slightly shorter than the other. Because of this, she occasionally toe-touches when standing still, but it doesn’t slow her down or affect her playful spirit. The leg is healed and does not require further treatment—it just makes her a little extra special! Potential adopters should be aware of this unique quirk, and we’ll have a medical waiver in place to ensure her new family understands her medical history. She’s perfectly adoptable just the way she is and has so much love (and a little extra personality) to give!
With her sweet nature and smarts, Emmy is ready to bring joy, cuddles, and plenty of tail wags to her forever home!

Our mission is to provide the programs and services needed to eliminate the killing of at-risk animals due to lack of space, adopter or foster.
San Antonio Pets Alive! is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Due to alarming euthanasia rates, San Antonio Pets Alive! (SAPA!) was founded in 2012. SAPA! is unique—it is the only high paced, high-volume rescue in San Antonio, saving 6,000 at-risk cats and dogs annually.
Since its inception, SAPA! has saved more than 47,000 dogs and cats. SAPA! provides safety nets for the dogs and cats that fall through the cracks of all other lifesaving options and end up on the euthanasia lists, often with just hours to be saved. SAPA! promotes the availability of these dogs and cats to other rescues, adopters and fosters.
