Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Rory!
Rory is a sweet 10 month old kitten looking for that purrfect person, or family, who can give a home full of love and play to him and his sister, Melody! Friendly and active, Rory is a sweet boy who is quick to warm up to new people and places so long as he is able to explore on his own terms. Rory can be a bit sensitive, but so long as he can take interactions at his own pace, he opens up in no time.
Rory feels a lot more safe and comfortable exploring new people and places with his older sister, Melody, by his side. The two are inseparable and so we have made them a bonded pair and they must go home together.
Rory and Melody show potential to co-exist in a multi-cat household, so long as they are given a slow introduction to any new feline friends. A slow intro will help ensure that they both feel safe and comfortable as they adjust to the presence of new cat companions.
Looking for a sweet pair of siblings to give the purrfect home to? Stop by the Humane Society of Summit County today and meet Rory, and his sister Melody today!

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.
We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.
Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter
Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
