Dog Test: (No Dogs) Ewok is shy and would be best in a home with no dogs.
Cat Test: (Okay with Select Cats) Ewok is shy but with lower energy cats she is ok.
Kid Test: (Okay with Kids) Ewok would be best with older kids that respect cat boundries.
Litter Box Trained:(Uses Litter Box) Ewok keeps a clean kennel.
Energy Level: (Medium) Ewok is a quirky little torbie with a wonderfully goofy personality! She might seem a bit odd at first, but that’s part of her charm. Ewok loves the comfort of her kennel, though she’s starting to get brave and explore new territory one pawstep at a time. She enjoys batting at string toys and can’t resist a good tube treat—it’s the quickest way to her heart. Ewok just needs a patient person who will give her time and love. With a little patience and understanding, she’s sure to blossom into a sweet and loyal companion.

Our shelter is open 7 days a week. (Excluding holidays).
Monday- Friday 8am-5pm
Saturday- Sunday 10am-2pm
We ask that you come visit any time between open and no later than 30 minutes prior to closing. This ensures that staff will have enough time to assist you in meeting one of our great furry friends!

We are a Municipal Animal Shelter for the City of Lee's Summit. We house animals brought in by Lee's Summit Animal Control Officers and Blue Springs Animal Control Officers.
Animals are also brought to us by owners that can no longer keep the animal or by strays that were impounded for running loose.
When an animal comes in as a stray, it is held for 5 days to give the owner a chance to claim it. If the owner does not claim it, on the 6th day it is put up for adoption or foster. During this 5 day holding period, if a potential adopter would like to adopt the animal, they are welcome to sign up on the adoption list. The names on the adoption list are contacted on the 6th day if no owner has made claim.
If there are no names on the adoption list, then the animal will become first come, first served when available for adoption.
