Obi is what we lovingly call a gentle giant. This big handsome boy has stolen the hearts of everyone at the shelter. He’s so well-loved that he often takes little walks through our offices just to say hello - his daily visits are the highlight of our day. Obi is playful, incredibly sweet, and happiest when he’s with his people. He loves a good chew toy, a comfy spot to relax, and has no idea he’s not a lap dog (but we don’t have the heart to tell him otherwise).
Obi will do best in a home with older children, where he can soak up all the love and attention as the only dog. He’s not a fan of cats, but he’s got more than enough affection to fill your whole home. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion with a big heart and an even bigger personality, Obi just might be your guy.

We are a same-day adoption center, and an application does not put you on a list or hold an animal for you. If they are in Wantagh or in a foster home, please submit an online application and our team will reach out to further discuss the adoption process. Prior to adoption, all of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and given their age-appropriate vaccines.

Our adoption team will contact you via email to coordinate a Zoom interview with the pets foster parent so you can learn about how he or she has been doing in a home. After a Zoom meeting, we will schedule an in-person interaction at the shelter so you can meet the pet and take them home with you same day!
