Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Looks like: Chihuahua
Male, 4 years old (estimated), 12 pounds
Meet Dorito, The Little Snack Who'll Fill Your Heart. Life hasn't always been kind to our sweet Dorito, but you'd never know it by the way his tiny tail wags when he sees someone he loves. This dapper little gentleman -- a charming Chihuahua mix with whispers of Min Pin and Pug-- is the perfect blend of scrappy survivor and snuggly sweetheart. At under 15 pounds, he's just the right size to fit in your lap, your arms, and your life.
Dorito's story started off a bit rough. Through no fault of his own, he found himself in the doggie system, bouncing between shelters and foster homes while waiting for his forever family. But through it all, this resilient little guy never lost his sparkle. He's learned to adapt to every environment with grace and optimism truly an adorable, adaptable Dorito!
His foster mom calls him the ultimate emotional support pup. Dorito has a special gift: he knows when you need love, comfort, or just a warm little body curled up next to you. His foster also reports that he is house trained, crate trained, and a pro at apartment living. He doesn't ask for much-- just a cozy spot to snooze, a full belly, and a kind heart to love him back.
Because of his past, Dorito can be a bit shy when life gets loud. Big noises, unfamiliar dogs, or sudden changes can make him nervous -- but give him time and reassurance, and you'll see that fear melt into trust. And while he may be small, some big things don't scare him at all - like his big appetite and his even bigger capacity for love!
Dorito is ready to start his next chapter: one filled with safety, stability, and endless cuddles. If you're looking for a loyal little companion who will make every day brighter, Dorito is your guy.
Dorito came to us from Ventura County Animal Services, where he helped ease overcrowding at their shelter. Now he's here, ready to find his forever home!
