My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Birdie is a 7-year-old mixed-breed female who came to us from Miami-Dade County in search of a second chance and a loving forever home. She is a gentle, affectionate dog with a calm presence and a moderate energy level—she enjoys a laid-back lifestyle with bursts of play, especially when toys are involved. Birdie absolutely adores her toys and will happily entertain herself or invite you to join in on the fun. When she’s not playing, she’s often curled up beside her person, soaking up affection and offering quiet companionship. Birdie is fully housetrained and knows several basic commands, making her well-mannered and easy to live with. She thrives on routine and does best in a predictable, structured environment where she can feel safe and secure. She is very people-focused and forms strong bonds with those she trusts, often seeking physical closeness and reassurance. While Birdie does not require an experienced adopter, she would benefit from someone who is patient and attuned to her sensitivities. She is dog selective—while she may be able to live with another calm, well-matched dog after a proper introduction, she may prefer to be the only pet in the home. Due to her sensitivity to fast movements, loud noises, and unpredictable environments, Birdie would do best in an adult-only home without young children. She is not a candidate for dog parks or high-traffic social settings. Birdie is looking for a quiet, low-key home where she can build trust at her own pace and share her deep loyalty and love with someone who truly values companionship. If you’re searching for a calm, cuddly, and devoted best friend, Birdie just might be the perfect fit.
