My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Poor Rudi the Redbone Hound Mix was saved from imminent euthanasia at a high kill NC shelter only to find himself stuck in boarding, spending most of his time in a crate when all he really wants to be doing is using his hound nose to explore.

He is a big floppy dopey (but very intelligent) kind of guy that is of moderate energy, and even though he is a sizable boy, he walks well on the leash. He’s just happy to even BE out walking with someone! He is good with dogs of all sizes; he’ll even wrestle around for a few minutes and then prefers to just explore. Generally speaking, he is comfortable in any dog pack dynamic. He has not yet been tested with Cats, but he can be if needed. He is gentle around children and has even lived in a Temp Foster home with toddlers and infants.

Now that he’s essentially “stuck” being crated many hours a day, we are desperately seeking either a foster or adoptive home for him where he can just be a companion dog that will go on long walks with you, and then come home and cuddle up on the couch with you and watch a good movie. He definitely wants to please his person and he’s a smart boy who learns quickly. Also, considering he is a hound, he’s not much of a barker which is a bonus!

“Deteriorating in boarding” essentially means that a dog will start to exhibit symptoms of anxiety and potentially start to self mutilate (chewing their paws and other spots, etc.) so we really would like to get him out before that happens!

Please - if you would like to learn more or possibly meet this boy or can help in anyway, please call/text Aly at 732-604-0625 ASAP!

Thank you for caring about a pet in need. <3
