Meet Kira Your New Best Friend
About Kira
Kira is a beautiful 6-year-old female Plott Hound mix with a striking brindle coat. Weighing in at 55 pounds, she’s not just a pretty face—she’s a loving and affectionate companion waiting to find her forever home.
Rescue Journey
Kira was rescued from a kill shelter and has been under the loving care of Barking Mad Animal Rescue since 2021. Despite her long stay at the rescue, Kira remains hopeful and ready to shower her future family with love and loyalty.
Personality and Traits
Sweet and Affectionate: Kira has a gentle and loving nature, making her a wonderful companion for anyone looking to add a bit of warmth to their home.
Dog-friendly: She gets along well with other dogs, which makes her a great addition to a multi-pet household.
Leash and Crate Trained: Kira walks beautifully on a leash and is comfortable in a crate, indicating her adaptability and good manners.
Health and Well-being
Kira is spayed, up-to-date on all her vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. With her health in prime condition, she is more than ready to start her new life with a loving family.
Adoption Information
Because Kira has been with the rescue for quite some time, a generous sponsor has offered to cover $200 of her adoption fees. This means adopting Kira is not only an opportunity to give her a loving home but also comes with financial assistance.
Foster or Adopt
Are you ready to open your heart and home to this sweet girl? Whether you're looking to foster or adopt, Kira is eager to meet you and become a cherished member of your family. Help us give Kira the forever home she deserves.

More about this rescue
BMAR is a No-Kill facility: a place of safety for healthy adoptable animals, a home for the homeless, a haven for the mistreated, neglected, or abused animals of Sabine & surrounding counties. BMAR also runs a sanctuary for those deemed unadoptible due to medical and behavior issues.
100% Volunteer Rescue. We have no animal control, Humane Society, or SPCA operating in our area leaving animals in dire straights.
BMAR is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty & abuse to all animals & livestock.
We currently only adopt to states and Canada where we have a network in place to monitor animals and help with problems.
BMAR backs it's dogs for life and will take back no matter how long and at any time if circumstance arise and you cannot keep your pet.
