I am Looking For: My loving forever family! Hi! I'm Mya, and I am a sweet girl! I won’t ask for much- just some love, cuddles and lots of toys so I can run and play and live the good life.

What My Foster Says About Me: Mya is a total sweetie. definitely a little skittish at first around noises and new people, she has been cautious as she has explored her new place and likes to keep an eye on the people who are around. It seems less like she is shy and more just that she gets spooked in a new environment with new noises.

She was very in to pets pretty much right away and loves head rubs and full body pets  -- she gets very loving in the morning or in the middle of the night :P when she wants to get pets and will purr up a storm. But she is very good about not being a bother at night and will sleep pretty much anywhere! She just will flop down on the floor wherever, often in doorways as if to make sure she is keeping an eye on everything.

Great litter box user and is ok being picked up for short stretches, but will get antsy then to be put down. She has not done any lap cuddling yet, although she does like to jump up on laps for pets and then go wander off again. or just plop down on the floor nearby.

Little kids might be tougher for her because of noises and grabbing. She does still have a playful streak, especially at dusk where she will get zoomier and any time I go upstairs to give her food in her room, she will skid across the floor and haul ass upstairs in excitement - it is very cute.

Really such a sweetheart, and will be such a great best friend!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Go meet their pets

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
