My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Caddie is a 12-year-old golden mix with a soft soul and a heart full of love to give. Weighing in at a petite 38 pounds, she's the perfect size for cozy companionship without taking up the whole couch (though she wouldn’t mind trying!).

Caddie came to us after her beloved owner entered hospice care. While the transition was tough, she’s learning to open her heart again. She's a bit shy at first, but once she trusts you, she’ll seek out your attention and enjoy every moment by your side. She loves her walks and settles into a nice routine when she feels secure.

She’s looking for a calm, quiet home where she can be the only pet and where adults will give her the time and space she needs to adjust. Once she knows she’s safe, Caddie’s loyalty and warmth shine through.

If you believe in second chances and the quiet joy of a loyal companion, Caddie just might be the dog you’ve been waiting for.

Additional adoption info

Potential adopters are asked to complete and application form, GRRSWF will perform a vet check followed by a telephone interview with the adopter, we will then set up a home visit in order to make the best possible match between the dog and it's new home. We do not charge any application fees. Adoption donations are on a sliding scale according to the dog's age and medical needs.

Go meet their pets

All of our dogs are placed in loving foster homes who evaluate them while treating them as one of their own family, so we do not have a formal boarding facility. Once you have identified a dog of interest and have submitted an application, then you will be able to schedule a visit to the foster home and the first meeting with your new family member.
