My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet  Sage!

Sage is a charming senior gentleman who came to us from our friends at Branch County Animal Control. He’s got a signature move—dropping the ball right into your lap to politely insist you throw it again (and again). Don’t let his age fool you: this golden‐aged goof still has plenty of pep for fetch sessions and joy rides!

Treats are Sage’s love language, which makes him easy (and fun) to train—though he’ll happily use those puppy‑dog eyes to score an extra biscuit or two. He can be pushy with other dogs, so he’d do best as the only dog or with a calm, tolerant canine companion who gives him space. A laid‑back cat who’s comfortable around dogs should be fine; he’s respectful if they’re not reactive.

Because Sage sometimes forgets his size and enthusiasm, we’re looking for a home with adults or older teens rather than young children—somewhere mellow where he can enjoy his golden years without little ones underfoot.

Sage is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative—ready to fill an adults‑only (or older‑kids) household with loyal companionship, slobbery tennis balls, and endless love. If you’re searching for a fun‑loving senior who still has plenty of zoom left, Sage is your guy!

Additional adoption info

We welcome interested adopters to visit with various adoptable pets 10am - 4pm Tuesday through Saturday at 3881 S Tripp Rd, Osseo, MI. No appointment is necessary.

Please allow at least an hour for the adoption process.

There are exceptions, but typically adoptions are the same day.

We know our pet photos are adorable, but it's best to select your companion based on their personality and compatibility with your family and lifestyle. It is important to that you bring any children with you to meet potential pets. We also recommend that all family members be present for an adoption. Spending quality time with any potential pet is key. This will help ensure that your potential pet is the best possible fit for everyone in the family. We welcome all adopters, from any county or state.

We prefer if you complete an application prior to meeting the animals so we can help you make a great match.
